March Book Orders Due
The March Scholastic Book Catalogs are available now!! Pick up a catalog packet in the box located under the mailboxes, in the front entrance. There is one catalog full of Good Night Books, which includes some old classics as well as some new stories. Each of the Catalogs also have at least one book for only a dollar. There are lots of great stories as well as an assortment of non-fiction. You may want to check out the Easter books as well! If you want book suggestions e-mail me (Katie at kapt2005@gmail.com). As a former Kindergarten/1st grade teacher and someone who is addicted to books, I'd be happy to answer questions or give recommendations based on what I know about the books available.
It's easy to order. Just log-in to www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. If it is your first time ordering use the class activation code: GXBN9 to set up your account. Cottage will earn a $3 book certificate for each online order parents place. You can also order using the paper catalogs and a check. If you choose to order that way please place checks and order forms in Sarah Takahashi's mailbox by 1pm on Thursday March 17th.

Kid Talk
Teacher Gilda was busy helping two children who were tugging at the rope, each saying "I got it first" and holding on steadfastly. Gilda came to their aid, holding on to the rope and asked child #1, "what is your story" and after his story was heard, he turned to the friend who he was in conflict with and said to him "what is your story?". Soon after, they figured out a way to take turns without Gilda's help.
