Parent Ed: Science-centered trainings
We have partnered with the California Science Center to present a day of science-centered trainings. The event is open to child care providers/teachers across the county. The California Science Center is pleased to announce the next workshop in the Winter/Spring series: "Inquiry, the Brain and How Children Learn: Strategies to Enhance Student Achievement" on April 2, 2011. Dr. Kenneth Wesson returns as our keynote speaker and will engage participants in hands-on experiences while empowering us with knowledge about the brain and how it works.
In addition, this mini conference is being presented in partnership with Crystal Stairs, Inc. and will offer specialized afternoon sessions: "I Am A Scientist: Exploring Your World Through Science"; "Art, Literacy and Brain Development"; and "Batteries Not Included: Science and Math Readiness".
Conference hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and will include light breakfast, lunch, parking and materials. Participants will also receive a Certificate of Attendance.
The registration fee is $35.00 if received before the deadline, March 25th. The registration fee for applications received after the deadline and onsite is $50.00
