CCPPNS Convention 2012

The end-all, be-all Parent Ed event is just a month away! The 63rd Annual Convention of the California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools (CCPPNS) is Friday, March 9 & Saturday, March 10, at the Burbank Airport Marriot. Cottage is a member of CCPPNS and of the San Gabriel Valley Council and we are one of the hosting schools this year.

These two days are filled with wonderful speakers, including our own local parenting neurobiologist, Dr. Tina Bryson and Keynote Speaker, Dr. Larry Cohen. He will be speaking on Playful Parenting – something we Cottage parents believe in strongly!

Take a moment to check out all of the breakout sessions – I’m sure you’ll find many you’d like to attend. To register, you can fill out a paper form (in the Parent Room and the Office) or you can visit the online registration (created by yours truly) at www.regonline.com/ccppns2012.

Onsite childcare will be provided at a cost of $35 per day ($20 for additional siblings). It’s supposed to be phenomenal – the team that is setting it up is talking about hiring a petting zoo, story tellers and all sorts of messy art projects.

If you have any questions, please lemme know. I hope to see you all there!

This book was a great tool in helping me communicate better with my kids. Using this book in combination with Adele Faber's "How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk" and Matt Pasquinilli's "The Child Whisperer," I have developed cammunication lines with my children that I thought only existed on the Cosby Show.
