Cottage Co-op Nursery School owes its success to its active community of teachers, parents, alumni, and children. It is their dedication and generosity that has made Cottage Co-op one of the premier nursery schools in Pasadena.
Compassion, energy, skill, and innovation are just some of the traits that make members of our community so wonderful. While the essence of our community, these traits alone are not sufficient to ensure the schools success. Tuition covers approximately 70% or our operating costs with the remaining 30% made up through the generosity of our community.
Each year, Cottage depends on kindness of our members and surrounding community to raise the money necessary to maintain our wonderful learning environment and parent education program.
WAYS YOU CAN GIVE
Each September, the Cottage Community comes together to sell hundreds of organic apples as part of our Fall Fundraiser. Through a partnership with Whole Foods, Cottage thanks those who help support our award-winning programs by offering tasty, locally grown, organic apples in return for each contribution.
To make it easier for you, we have a safe and easy way to make a donation to support our wonderful school. There are two ways to support Cottage:
- Donate $20 during our annual Fall Apple Sale and receive a voucher to exchange for delicious, locally grown, organic apples in a reusable bag, from Whole Foods. The voucher can only be redeemed at the Pasadena Whole Foods on Arroyo - all the details, dates and times are provided on the voucher you will receive after making your donation.
- OR if you live outside of the area, don't like apples, or just want to support our school with a straight donation - you can do so at any time of the year!
Donations of valuable services and items are welcome at Cottage! We do ask that, before you decide to make an in-kind contribution, you contact the Executive Director ensure that it is an appropriate or beneficial contribution to the school.
Join Us in Supporting Our School Cottage Co-op Nursery School celebrates its commitment to the whole-child / play-based approach to child development. Our programs nourish intellectual curiosity, promote self-confidence and build social skills. To accomplish these community goals, Cottage relies upon your donations to the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is vital to the school’s ability to operate within budget especially in these difficult financial times.
Each family is asked to contribute a minimum of $500 per year. Families with more than one child will be asked to give $300 per additional child.
Doesn't tuition cover costs at Cottage?
Tuition covers most of the operating costs but we rely on the Fall Apple Sale and our Annual Fund to make up the gap between tuition and our expenses.
Is my gift to the Annual Fund a tax-deductible contribution?
Absolutely! Cottage is a 501(c) nonprofit organization and contributions to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible. We will thank you for your gift with a letter confirming your donation that should be kept for tax purposes.
