Play-Based, Whole Child Approach
Our program is based on the "whole child" approach to early childhood education. This philosophy recognizes that all areas of a child's development are connected; development in one growth area affects development in all other areas. Our play-based curriculum and environment facilitates simultaneous development in all areas of growth — social, emotional, physical and intellectual. Our philosophy is also grounded in a belief that each child is unique. We encourage the development of a strong self-image and respect for individuality and diversity.
Our program is developmentally appropriate for preschool children. This means that the curriculum is based on play, which is the child's natural medium of learning, growth and socialization, as well as the child's way of expressing and coping with his/her changing needs. In order to develop an understanding of each child, teachers observe children while they play. From this observation, teachers then work with each child based on the child's needs and interests.
